Week 6 Reflection!

For our 2nd informational interview Kayla and I spoke with Adrianna Davis, our boss and Passion Impact’s High School Program coordinator. Adrianna was born and raised in Portland, OR. Growing up Adrianna did a lot of sports, she has played soccer, basketball, track, rugby, and also gymnastics. She left high school with a 4.0 gpa and entered OSU with an interest for forensic science. One of the big tips Adrianna gave us was to check what classes the university you're interested in offers so you don’t enter college clueless and behind. All throughout Adrianna’s life she has considered herself the underdog which made going to OSU an even clearer choice for her. One of my biggest takeaways from this Informational Interview was Adrianna’s personal growth. All 4 years of high school Adrianna felt she was hiding her true self and floated through her years not feeling in place or happy. Starting her college life at OSU, Adrianna felt somewhat better but nowhere near her true self. Near the end of her time at OSU she met a good group of friends who helped her not only come out but also to be her authentic self. Since her time at OSU, Adrianna has lived in LA where she spent her days at an elementary school as an after school program coordinator with adorable yet very rebellious and ridiculously rich little kids and her nights at concerts fully living in the moment. Currently Adrianna Davis is back in Portland and lives her everyday life unapologetically and her most authentic self while working at Passion Impact and somewhat secretly being a super athlete!

This week I had my exit interview with Adrianna where I was told how I did during the 6 weeks of this internship. I left my exit interview feeling relieved and happy! This week we finally completed our committee specific projects. When we were first given the VEP checklist, there were 21 pages but after spending days on days working on it we shortened and edited it to 11 pages. As for our VEP promotional video we each set up little noise cancelling forts at home to block out any pesky little sounds. On Friday, our last day of the internship we had a showcase where all interns had a chance to show what they’ve done the past few weeks, their websites, and experience. I will forever be grateful for this awesome opportunity! It's been fun PI, Peace out!
